I am delighted to get an opportunity to sing this song for the Ministry of Women and Child Development on this special occasion of Republic Day.
The song is Bhaarat Ki Naari, and it was for the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi in 2025.
It is a song about Indian women. The verses go through what they actually do — teaching and educating, keeping families from falling ill, pushing malnutrition out of the door, flying higher than the sky, carrying the tricolour. It says the country is proud of her, that the border is safer because of her, and that she is what a developed India looks like. Then it comes back to the same line each time: she has not been beaten by hard work, because she is the woman of India.
I have not printed the words here, because I want to check who wrote them before I reproduce them on my own site.
